LAST DAY OF THE YEAR AT HUG POINT
The last day of 2020…I know many people have been waiting for it (I personally wasn’t that excited as I knew that 2021 wouldn’t be that different and that we were in it for the long haul with Covid), but none the less we wanted to have some fun so we decided to take another drive down the Oregon coast. As we headed down we ran in to Hug point, which was an interesting place to pull off and explore as we were rewarded with a nice and stroller friendly hike that lead to a fairly secluded and hidden beach. This particular photo was the last photo of the day as the sun was starting to call it a day. Not a whole lot of editing was required on this photo as the sky was all sorts of orange naturally.
Just a little bit before the photo above I took this one. If there was ever a photo that just felt “PNW” this is it. It looks cold but warm and inviting at the same time. That or if you are not feeling that description then maybe you will get the vibe of it totally being a seen from Twilight (no this is not me admitting that I have seen the movie, or movies…or maybe it is..). Either way I was really enjoying the sunset as our day was coming to an end.
As the sun was starting to set it was casting an orangish glow on all of the rocks on the beach and I thought it looked really cool so I decided to get super low and take a photo from the rock’s perspective. I didn’t quite get the sky that I wanted in this photo but I am happy with the photo overall.
I just love leading lines, I don’t know what it is but I just absolutely just love them. As we were taking the easy hike down to the beach we came across this suspension bridge that was splitting of to another trail and I had to stop for a few minutes to grab a few photos. This particular one ended up being my favorite out of the bunch. In editing it I wanted the bridge in color as it was showing you the “light” or “path” in its color in an otherwise bland, black and white world. I was really enjoying the 24-70mm G Master and its ability to get focus so sharp where I wanted it while giving me the right blur in the right places. Till next time…
